- What is this site all about? This site started in 2005 like so many sites, as a simple page with a list of useful freeware. The aim was - and is - to offer a better and free alternative to those CDs and DVDs you find sealed with magazines. Nowadays the site is database driven, but still contains the best free software presented in a single list.
- What can I find here? Our database contains free software of all kinds, sorted in 15 categories. We don't offer trial versions and all software is totally free for personal use. All provided downloads are 32 bit*, English versions for Windows, please visit the respective websites for other versions and languages.
- How safe is it to download this software? Every program had been tested for known virusses and/or spyware and we only offer reliable software from known parties. Nevertheless, it's always wise to use an Up to Date virus scanner and take all other necessary precautions before you download and install anything from the Internet.
- How is the software list organized? The programs are categorized, and sometimes added to more than one category. Often downloaded items are higher in the list than less popular ones. The least downloaded software is removed from the main list, but can still be found on the More Free Downloads list.
- Can I make a suggestion for a wonderful piece of software? Yes, you can! Please visit Facebook get in touch with us.
- How many programs do you have? There are currently almost 700 top quality programs, and counting...
- Is it legal to download and use these programs? We do not offer cracked software (warez) or present links to websites that do. Please keep in mind that some programs are not free of charge if used for commercial purposes. We refer to the license agreement of the software you want to use.
- Downloads don't start, what can be wrong? Disable your download manager and avoid right clicking on files, this should solve most of the download problems.
- What's different from the numerous other software sites? You'll only find free software that's not mixed with trial versions and shareware. 100-downloads.com is unique in offering one click downloads. We provide a short description of what a specific program does, and a link to the manufacturers website for more detailed information.
- Where is WinRar? As stated, we don't offer paid software. The freely distributed version of WinRar is so called shareware and must be purchased within some weeks after installation. It's the same for WinZip and Internet Download Manager.
- Why don't you add version numbers to the program names? Most 'normal' people are not interested in version numbers. Because we check and update all items in our database daily, you will always get the latest available version.
- What's the privacy policy of this website? Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website.
